Class Descriptions
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a slower-paced because the practitioner holds the positions for longer periods of time. There is a lot of emphasis on alignment and technique.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is faster-paced going from one position to the next with flowing movements in between. Breath is a major focus, along with technique and alignment, as well. This style allows for the teacher to have creativity and design her own sequences.
Vinyasa-Hatha Yoga
Vinyasa-Hatha Yoga would be a combination between these two styles. Most of the classes at RinaYoga taught will be a in Vinyasa-Hatha format so that there is a good balance for the students.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Ashtanga is an even faster-paced, rigorous and intense style of yoga practice. A set sequence of poses are always in the same order. Power Yoga is based on Ashtanga.
Funyasa Yoga TM
Funyasa Yoga™ is all about celebrating the joy of movement. Each class is designed as a tribute to the complete person: physical body, reactionary mind, luminous soul. Come join us in a guided but personal exploration of the body in a cathartic blend of hard sweat and surrender, with special emphasis on fun. You'll improve your core strength, flexibility and overall resilience by integrating action & response with humor, through a spontaneous and sensual mélange of poses. Everyone is encouraged to move intuitively through variations of poses in a spirit of self-inquiry, without discounting the importance of a disciplined, alignment-based physical practice. Poses are linked playfully by the breath's rhythm, sequenced to invite a sense of playfulness into the practice. We do kinetic variations of static poses, standing balancing poses, deep delicious stretches, arm balances, occasional wild-animal imitations, and more. Outrageous options are available for those who need them.
Community Class
Community classes will be taught through the summer. They are donation-based classes taught by recent RinaYoga teacher training graduates. These classes are open to students new to yoga as well as to students with advanced practices.
